About a year ago, I heard Bruno Mars cover “Heavy Rotation” by AKB48, and since then, I’ve been trying to pull a cover of this song together. There have been a lot of variations of this cover, but I’m thrilled to finally have some form of this song together. For me, this song marks many firsts; aside from my own original, it was the first time I put together a backing track closely following the original, and, of course, the first cover in a long time. I had really hoped to have a more aggressive timeline for this song, but I also wanted to ensure that it was not a stressful project.

Throughout the time this cover has sat in incubation, this song slowly made its way into my own life. When I’m exhausted in the middle of a race, this song pops into my head, and despite being tired, I will sing the song and continue to run. The song also reminds me to boldly express my love to people and share my happiness. My favorite part of this song is the pure joy it conveys. Even if you don’t know the lyrics, the song exudes happiness and joy, which captures the essence of what the idol industry should be. Simply making people happy. The song is a reminder to me how simple the content creation world should be

With that, I’m delighted to do this cover with Ayla. Before hearing about this song from Bruno Mars, Ayla had told me about this group and I, obviously, waved it off. However, now I get the appeal. There’s something special about this song, and through idol culture, sharing pure joy and bliss. I think, given my own natural personality, that’s challenging
