I was honored when Oystein (Karlsen) asked me to be a part of this tv series. A few years ago, he used “Let it Rain on Me,” for his show, “Dag,” and when I recently saw the first season of his new show, I was hoping I´d get a phone call. This is the way this song was originally intended to sound. I love the way it appears on the record, but there´s something about this version that just feels more natural to me. There´s a rawness to it that just feels… right. I hope you enjoy!
Lyrics:
The walls are washed in wet, white paint
Steel bars on the windows, the mirrors are draped
Construction outside, I can hear a drill
They´re changing the locks, but I´m in here still
You were here yesterday, today you left
A neighbor came to the door, but I wasn´t dressed
Talk radio, bad news all over the place
Put your head back on the pillow, the blanket over your face
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
Things looked different, now they don´t anymore
Under my bed, in a shoebox
Next to old newspapers, forgotten letters, and socks
What was made for many has been enjoyed by a few
Into my magazine comes a clip, I put it in just for you
I hear sirens, helicopters, and screams
A k-9 barks, everyone´s here just for me
Even if you´re good you won´t make it out alive
Is there anything you can do? said the poet to his guide
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
Put your hand in mine now love, throw your jacket on the floor
C´mon, you can have a little more
Go to the back of the line for what you need
You can beg for mercy or you can break down the f***ing door
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
Don´t you love me anymore?
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
We´re all on board
Put your hand in mine now, love, throw your jacket on the floor
