Live-action Zoro actor Mackenyu just proved he’s not playing Zoro, he is Zoro. This isn’t some PR fandom either. Mackenyu has been a lifelong One Piece fan who grew up with the series and always said Zoro was his favorite character, which already made the casting feel perfect. But he took it to another level when he quietly entered a real One Piece card game tournament, no celebrity treatment, no special rules and ended up placing 8th out of 366 players, winning 8 of his 10 matches. And the detail that makes this insane? He played the entire tournament using a custom Zoro playmat signed by Oda himself.
